The land our community garden sits on has been owned by local Holton St Mary charities for a long time. Many years ago, the rent from the land was used to keep the village well in good repair, hence it's name.
We grow organic fruit, vegetables and flowers and encoure wildlife by providing as wide a range of habitats as we can. Every so often we have special projects such as making a wildlife pond or creating a hibernaculum.

We meet regularly as a community group on Tuesday mornings from 10am and some of us are about at other times too. You’re always
welcome to come and join in for as little or as long as you like, or just pop down for a cup of coffee. The path linking the Millennium Green to the Churchyard will be open at all times, giving you the opportunity to walk through. The composting loo on the Well Piece is also a great village asset.
As a small village community, some of us face many challenges and The Well Piece Community Garden hopes to help to address these.
Isolation, a lack of amenities, a need to keep active and a desire for more wildlife habitat
are all concerns that are common these days.

We often have special events in the garden too - summer barbeques, Apple Day, activities for children during the summer and a great cafe
